Kait Walker, Paramedic
Clinical Consultant
Kait Walker is a Clinical Consultant with BluePeak Advisors, a division of Gallagher Benefit Services. She has more than 18 years of experience in the Healthcare industry and nine years with Medicare Advantage Health Plans to include PPO, HMO, D-SNP, and C-SNP. Her unique operational background has allowed her to hold leadership roles in utilization management, case management, Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) management, pharmacy, and health plan operations.
Prior to joining BluePeak, Kait managed Utilization Management (UM) teams for Part C, developed UM vendor oversight programs, conducted risk assessments, performed mock audits and participated in CMS program audits as well as remediation and validation for Part C Organization Determinations, Appeals and Grievances (ODAG), performed pre-delegation, annual delegation oversight, and validation audits for UM vendors.
Kait has extensive experience with a D-SNP where she monitored and communicated performance results to key stakeholders and developed and implemented performance improvement plans to eliminate unnecessary utilization while maximizing care coordination and improving health outcomes. Additional health plan experience includes system implementations and configuration across several platforms, claims processing, provider relations and contracting, customer service, bid planning and implementation, health plan regulatory reporting, Medicare compliance, and document review.
At BluePeak, Kait serves as a subject matter expert in ODAG, PACE clinical compliance, Medicare Regulation, Special Needs Plans and the operational and clinical implications of the Model of Care (MOC). Kait provides consultant support to plans regarding Medicare business operations, Medicare policy, audit support, and program management, including delegation oversight.
Kait is licensed as a certified flight Paramedic in Oregon and currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration.
