Barrie Cheung, Pharm.D., is a Senior Consultant at BluePeak Advisors where he focuses on pharmacy operations, claims and audits for government sponsored health organizations and Pharmacy Benefit Manager, (PBMs). Barrie has a deep knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare-Medicaid Plans (MMP) and Medi-Cal plans. Barrie has 20 years of experience in managed care and health plans, working the first ten years as a clinical pharmacist focused primarily on clinical duties.
Prior to joining BluePeak, Barrie has been in the role of a managing director of a dynamic and thriving pharmacy department administering and managing pharmacy benefits for a Medicare-Medicaid Plan (MMP) and Medi-Cal plans. During this time, he provided direction, leadership, and worked cross-functionally and with the PBM to implement pharmacy benefits for a major membership launch. Barrie successfully implemented and launched a Medicare-Medicaid (MMP) in 2014 concurrently with a Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) program, a Medi-Cal Expansion in 2014, and Medicare Part D programs on a yearly basis.
