T.J. Federer, MBA
Director of Client Services
T.J. Federer is a Director of Client Services with BluePeak Advisors, a division of Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc. A veteran health care executive with over 27 years of experience, T.J. has over 20 years of managed care experience with a focus on Medicare Advantage, new product development, Customer Success, Value-Based Providers, Pharmacy Benefit Management, and clinical programming.
Prior to joining BluePeak, T.J. worked for a Fortune 50 managed care organization whose products and services were focused on Medicare Advantage, pharmacy, and other government-sponsored health programs. In his most recent role there, he created and led a large team of clinicians who worked closely with value-based providers and members in the roll out of clinical and financial programs including Part D Stars, formulary adherence, and Part B/Part D specialty drug utilization. He drove initiatives across value-based provider groups to improve pharmacy specific Stars measures that contributed to nearly all Medicare Advantage members in contracts that were 4-Stars or greater. In addition to this work, T.J. was responsible for the development and implementation of key products and services in the Pharmacy Benefit Management space that still operate today and generate significant revenue for the organization. Earlier in his tenure at this company, T.J. worked closely with the Tricare program where he and his team developed and managed programs for military treatment facilities aimed at optimizing access to care. In addition to his work in managed care, T.J. successfully developed new business units within the physical therapy and psychiatry space.
At Blue Peak, T.J. helps to lead the business development and account management function for existing and new clients. He utilizes his overall background in healthcare operations coupled with his managed care experience to help clients achieve their best outcomes. He is a trusted advisor to his customers and demonstrates this in his focus on teamwork. His strength is in bringing people together to identify needs, develop strategies, and successfully accomplish needed outcomes.
T.J. holds two master’s degrees, one in business administration from the University of Louisville and one in social work from the University of Georgia. T.J. earned his bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Tennessee.
