Christina Christensen is a Health Plan Services Consultant with BluePeak Advisors, a division of Gallagher Benefit Services, Inc. with over 31 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Christina has directed Medicare operations and compliance teams for 2 large health insurance companies. Her responsibilities were to maintain audit readiness, including monitoring the accuracy of prescription claim submission, formulary adjudication, and generation of universe data. She directed the team responsible for the remediation of corrective action plans, working closely with multiple internal business partners. She created a monitoring program for a Medication Therapy Management program and acted as a compliance consultant for a quality assurance pharmacist team. Christina has provided support for call centers and assisted with developing programs to improve the beneficiary experience and ensuring CMS requirements were met.
Christina has extensive experience and knowledge of Medicare Part D regulations and audits. She has prepared speakers and researchers for CMS audits and led remediation efforts post-audit. She has trained call center associates, technicians, and clinicians on processes to ensure compliance with CMS regulations. Christina has evaluated clinical decisions for appropriateness to reduce the risk of Prescription Drug Event (PDE) rejects and facilitated the operational responses to internal and external audits. Christina has spoken in Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) hearings and in meetings with CMS.
Christina received a Bachelor of Science degree in both pharmacy and biology. She is certified in Healthcare Compliance and Prior Authorizations. Prior to her focusing her career in Medicare, she was district pharmacy manager, pharmacist-in-charge and traveling pharmacist for a large retail chain.
